An exclusive report reveals that the rapper, who was nominated for a Grammy Award, was sentenced to six years in prison in 2023 for drug trafficking and has already served almost half of the sentence. Efforts are underway to free Fetty Wap from prison as his family and team believe that his sentence is too harsh for a non-violent offense.

Fetty's sister, Divinity Maxwell-Butts, posted on Instagram on April 4 to bring awareness to her brother's situation and advocate for his sentence to be reduced. She emphasized the need for redemption over punishment, stating that Fetty has taken responsibility for his actions and served a significant portion of his term for a non-violent crime. She urged for his sentence to be commuted so he can reunite with his family, children, and purpose.

In an interview with AllHipHop, Maxwell-Butts expressed her determination to seek clemency for her brother, emphasizing the themes of faith, redemption, and second chances. She stressed that everyone deserves a chance at redemption and highlighted the importance of forgiveness and rehabilitation in the pursuit of true justice.

Fetty Wap, whose real name is Willie Junior Maxwell II, was sentenced for his involvement in a drug trafficking conspiracy that spanned from the West Coast to the East Coast, distributing controlled substances like cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and crack cocaine. His arrest in 2021 at Rolling Loud New York led to his guilty plea and subsequent sentencing, with prosecutors detailing his role as a key re-distributor for the trafficking organization.

Maxwell-Butts is determined to attract the attention of Donald Trump, who holds the authority to commute her brother's sentence, as she continues her efforts to secure Fetty Wap's release from prison.
