The family of the late Sulli has made claims that she was pressured to film nude scenes in the movie 'Real.' Consequently, the film has gained unexpected popularity on various OTT platforms.
As of March 30th, 'Real' ranked high on Netflix Korea, Coupang Play, and TVING's movie lists. The film resurfaced due to controversies involving lead actor Kim Soo Hyun's past relationship with Kim Sae Ron and allegations from Sulli's family about inappropriate demands during filming.
Sulli's family released a statement on March 28th expressing concerns over the nude scene she was required to shoot, questioning the script's clarity, the presence of a body double, and whether she felt pressured during the filming. They urged responses from Kim Soo Hyun and the director, Lee Sarang.
Sulli's brother has been posting accusatory messages towards Kim Soo Hyun since March 21st. 'Real,' featuring Sulli and Kim Soo Hyun, was released in 2017 and drew attention for being Kim Soo Hyun's last film before military enlistment and for Sulli's explicit scenes. The film faced criticism for its confusing plot and lack of quality.
Director Lee Sarang took over the direction of the film abruptly, partnering with Kim Soo Hyun after being listed initially only as a producer. Former director Lee Jung Sub commented on the situation but clarified not having the official authority to speak, mentioning being excluded from the casting process and casting rookie actress Han Ji Eun.
