The production team behind the popular variety show 'Running Man' on SBS TV raised concerns over a recent increase in scams where individuals falsely claim to be show staff members to order expensive alcohol in bulk. SBS emphasized that the show's team never makes such requests and cautioned viewers to be wary of suspicious messages to avoid being scammed. Measures will be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future. The Suwon South Police Station in Gyeonggi Province is actively investigating a case where a karaoke bar owner was deceived into transferring a significant amount of money for premium whiskey under false claims of being a 'Running Man' producer. This incident is part of a troubling trend where scammers pose as entertainment figures, causing a rise in fraudulent activities. Various public figures, such as singers Nam Jin, Yoon Jong Shin, and Song Ga In, actors Ha Jung Woo, Namkoong Min, and Byeon Woo Seok, and comedian Lee Soo Geun, have raised awareness and advised caution against such scams. Additionally, VARO Entertainment has taken legal action against a manager impersonation scam involving Byeon Woo Seok.
