Korean girl group TWICE has recently launched their fifth best album in Japan, demonstrating their enduring popularity in the country. Titled '#TWICE5', the album was officially released on May 14th at midnight, featuring Japanese renditions of their popular tracks including 'Talk that Talk', 'SET ME FREE', and 'ONE SPARK'. This album continues the successful #TWICE series and is their first best-of album in over three years since the release of '#TWICE4' in March 2022.
Having started their Japanese career in June 2017, TWICE has consistently achieved chart-topping success, received accolades, and amassed over 20 million album sales combined from Korea and Japan. They made history in July 2024 by becoming the first foreign female group to perform at Nissan Stadium during their fifth world tour, which attracted 1.5 million fans. Moreover, the group's sub-unit, MISAMO, debuted in Japan in July 2023 and is gearing up for a performance at Tokyo Dome in January 2025, marking them as the fastest female act to grace the venue.
In a further testament to their global influence, TWICE is set to headline Lollapalooza Chicago at Grant Park in Illinois on August 2nd. This performance solidifies their international standing and showcases their widespread appeal.
