Hyungwon is set to complete his military service in the Army Band in Korea on May 13th, after enlisting around a year and a half ago in November 2023. He will be the fifth member of MONSTA X to finish his military duties, following Shownu, Minhyuk, Jooheon, and Kihyun. The group's youngest member, I.M, has not yet started his military enlistment.
The timing of Hyungwon's discharge carries significant importance as it coincides with MONSTA X's 10th debut anniversary, which falls on May 14th. To commemorate this milestone, the group will launch a digital album called 'NOW PROJECT vol.1' on various music platforms on that day.
The album is set to feature 10 tracks, including both main singles and B-sides released from 2021 to 2023. As part of their 10th-anniversary festivities, MONSTA X aims to re-record these songs with all six members' vocals, offering a heartfelt gift to their loyal fanbase, Monbebe. This is particularly special as some members were unable to participate in the initial recordings due to military service commitments.
