While investigations into the lawsuits brought by actor Kim Soo Hyun and the late Kim Sae Ron are ongoing, a new whistleblower report concerning Kim Sae Ron's grieving family has been forwarded to the Gangnam Police Station.

During a recent press briefing on May 19, Park Hyun Soo, acting chief of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, revealed that the case related to a violation of the Child Welfare Act, filed by Kim Sae Ron's party, is under investigation by the Women and Juvenile Crime Division of Gangnam Police Station. Additionally, the case lodged by Kim Soo Hyun's party, which accuses the manipulation of AI-generated content, is being managed by the Criminal Investigation Division within the same station.

It was mentioned by the police that Kim Soo Hyun's legal team is in the process of arranging a schedule for the plaintiff's testimony, while the defendants have not yet been interrogated. The authorities disclosed that a total of seven cases have been filed by Kim Soo Hyun's party and three cases by Kim Sae Ron's party.

Meanwhile, Kim Soo Hyun is reportedly facing repercussions as not only local advertisers but also international partners are severing ties with him. Taiwan's Sanli News Network (SETN) reported that 7-Eleven’s Taiwanese headquarters has decided to entirely terminate their collaboration with Kim Soo Hyun, citing significant monetary losses.

7-Eleven specified that they have ceased all production and marketing related to the collaboration, with losses amounting to about 130 million TWD (approximately 6 billion KRW or around 4.3 million USD). They are contemplating filing a damages claim against Kim Soo Hyun due to reputational harm, discarded products, and lost advertising revenue.

Previously, Kim Soo Hyun had faced allegations of having a relationship with Kim Sae Ron while she was underage. Following her passing, her family alleged on the YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute (Hoverlab) that the two had been involved during her minor years. Contrarily, Kim Soo Hyun's side vehemently denied these claims, asserting that their relationship began after she turned 18. Lawsuits have been filed against Kim Sae Ron's family and Kim Se Ui, the YouTube channel operator, for violations of network utilization laws, defamation, and damages, amounting to 11 billion KRW (approximately 8 million USD).

In a related development, Lee Jin Ho responded to AI-manipulated tapes released by Garosero Research Institute, branding the claims as "clear fabrications."
