Singer IU has once again demonstrated her kindness by making a significant donation in celebration of Children's Day 2025.
On May 5, IU's agency, EDAM Entertainment, announced that she had donated 150 million KRW under the name 'IUaena' to mark the occasion. The donation aims to support young individuals gearing up for independence and enhance the living conditions of children with disabilities.
Particularly, 62 million KRW was allocated to Eden I Ville, while 90 million KRW was given to Hansarang Village and Hansarang Infant Care Center for Children with Disabilities. The funds provided for Eden I Ville will be utilized to create secure spaces for teenagers striving for self-reliance and to facilitate Children's Day gifts and activities.
The contribution to the Hansarang institutions will aid in the replacement of old boilers, covering medical and rehabilitation expenses, and offering gifts to children, thereby enhancing their daily lives.
Since her debut in 2008, IU has consistently engaged in charitable acts on significant occasions like her debut anniversary, birthdays, and year-end holidays, always under the shared name of IUaena. In 2019, she was recognized as the youngest individual to be featured in Forbes Asia's Heroes of Philanthropy.
Earlier in March, she donated 200 million KRW to assist in the recovery from wildfires in Gyeongsang Province and to enhance the working conditions of firefighters.
Furthermore, IU recently captivated audiences with her portrayal of two characters in the Netflix series 'When Life Gives You Tangerines,' and she is presently gearing up for her upcoming project, 'The Queen of Tears in the 21st Century'.
