On the 7th of May, the Garosero Research Institute, also known as HoverLab, led by CEO Kim Se Eui, made an assertion that a whistleblower holding a recording concerning the late actress Kim Sae Ron was violently attacked, indicating it as a "clear effort to incite murder."
During a press event at SpaceShare Samseong Station Center in Samseong-dong, Seoul, the grieving family of Kim Sae Ron, along with their legal counsel and Kim Se Eui, discussed the ongoing issues surrounding her passing.
Attorney Boo Ji Seok from the law firm Buyou and Kim Se Eui revealed that initially, they planned to disclose the matter post the presidential election in South Korea, but due to recent serious developments, they opted to reveal it sooner.
According to Kim, about a month prior to Kim Sae Ron's reported suicide, she shared details with a whistleblower based in New Jersey, USA. The actress reportedly mentioned that the individuals who troubled her most were Kim Soo Hyun and 'Entertainment President Lee Jin Ho.' It was mentioned that the whistleblower had recorded a conversation of about 90 minutes with Kim Sae Ron, seemingly with her approval.
On the 30th of April, the whistleblower was supposedly assaulted by two attackers believed to be from Korea and China. Kim alleged that he was stabbed in the neck area nine times. The family requested the release of a part of the recording fearing the situation could escalate, deeming it an attempted murder.
It was also claimed that Kim Sae Ron had an inappropriate relationship with actor Kim Soo Hyun during her time in middle school, and other disclosures were intended to be unveiled post the presidential election. However, due to the recent violent incident, they chose to disclose some information sooner.
Kim asserted that the attack was a premeditated crime and mentioned that the case is under scrutiny by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) rather than the local New Jersey authorities.
As of now, there has been no official response from U.S. authorities or the individuals implicated in the accusations.
