Singer G-Dragon, whose real name is Kwon Ji Yong, has ventured into the alcoholic beverage industry by introducing a new product under his fashion brand PEACEMINUSONE. The 'PEACEMINUSONE Highball' was launched on April 30th by his streetwear label, which he founded in 2016. The unveiling of the highly anticipated drink was announced on social media, specifically Instagram, on April 28th. This marks the brand's initial step into the beverage market after several successful collaborations with luxury brands. The packaging, uniquely showcasing the PEACEMINUSONE logo, was personally crafted by G-Dragon.
On the same day, G-Dragon also shared a cosmic-themed visual project on his Instagram Story, produced by Galaxy Corporation. This project aligns with his consistent theme of the universe, following his previous projects like the 'HOME SWEET HOME' music video created in partnership with Microsoft using Azure OpenAI Sora at KAIST, and a space sound transmission project in association with NASA SETI. The storyline revolves around a universe landing back on Earth.
The PEACEMINUSONE Highball, influenced by G-Dragon's penchant for wine, is a wine-based lemon highball with lemon slices shaped like the daisy motif representing PEACEMINUSONE. The product, produced in a limited edition of 880,000 cans, which symbolize his favorite number "8" and birth year, 1988, was manufactured by BRUGURU, a prominent name in the canned highball market known for its fresh lemon highballs. This unique beverage will be available from April 30th at CU convenience stores throughout South Korea.
A spokesperson from Galaxy Corporation emphasized that the project combines G-Dragon's artistic vision, Galaxy Corporation's AI-driven content planning and production capabilities, and BRUGURU's manufacturing proficiency to offer consumers a new and distinctive experience.
