The planned concert of EPEX in mainland China has been officially delayed. The event, named '2025 EPEX CONCERT Youth Deficiency', was initially set for May 31 at MAAQUU x CH8 LIVEHOUSE in Fuzhou but had to be rescheduled due to local issues. Following the approval for the concert, there was a rise in fraudulent activities related to Korean artists' performances in China and South Korea. This led authorities in China to request the postponement. It was reported that some companies in China falsely claimed to have obtained approval for large concerts by pretending to be senior executives from CCTV, China's state broadcaster. EPEX's concert was significant as the first commercial K-pop performance allowed in mainland China in nine years, following the THAAD deployment in South Korea in 2016. This news raised hopes that the alleged “K-pop ban” might be easing. The agency stated that they are working closely with Chinese officials to determine a new date and venue for the concert, and will update soon.
