The upcoming fantasy action film is set in a world where a web novel's events come to life after its conclusion. The story revolves around Kim Dok Ja, the sole reader of the novel, who joins forces with the protagonist, Yoo Jung Hyuk, to survive in a post-apocalyptic setting. Despite its significant production budget of approximately 22 million USD, the film has attracted attention as a major summer blockbuster.

Each character in 'Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint' possesses unique abilities bestowed by constellations. The character Lee Ji Hye, modeled after Admiral Yi Sun Shin, has sparked concerns by using a gun in the teaser instead of the traditional sword associated with Yi Sun Shin, leading to fears that historical elements may have been altered. Similar alterations in past adaptations, such as the removal of references to Korean historical figures in a Japanese release, have raised criticism of catering to a wider audience.

The decision to equip a character inspired by Admiral Yi Sun Shin with a gun instead of traditional Korean weapons like a sword or bow has drawn objections from some viewers, especially considering Yi Sun Shin's historical resistance against Japanese forces. Notably, the presence of top Hallyu stars like Jisoo, Lee Min Ho, and Ahn Hyo Seop in the film has amplified global interest in the project.

In response to the backlash, Realies Pictures CEO Won Dong Yeon emphasized the need for creative adjustments in film adaptations, citing past experiences with similar projects.
