The Garo Sero Research Institute, also known as HOVERLAB, has revived its accusations against Kim Soo Hyun, but their claims were quickly debunked when the whistleblower admitted to tampering with the audio recordings.
In a previous event on May 7, the YouTube channel organized a press conference where they unveiled startling allegations involving Kim Soo Hyun and the late Kim Sae Ron. The CEO of HOVERLAB, Kim Se Eui, and attorney Bu Ji Seok from Buyou law firm, disclosed an audio recording of a private conversation between Kim Sae Ron and a whistleblower known as Mr. A.
Alongside this, the institute asserted that the whistleblower was the target of a murder attempt after meeting with the deceased actress. According to Kim Se Eui, the whistleblower was allegedly stabbed nine times in the neck area and needed 20 stitches.
Initially, the whistleblower claimed to have been stabbed in the neck nine times with a weapon. However, he later altered his statement, asserting that the injury was, in fact, on his arm. This change came after a video purportedly sent by the whistleblower was released. During the press conference, Kim Se Ui showcased the video, which contradicted both the claims made by the Garo Sero Institute and the whistleblower.
In the video, Mr. A revealed that he was discharged from the hospital six days after the attack on May 1 in New Jersey, USA. He exhibited severe lacerations on both arms and explained that he had difficulty using his left hand, resorting to filming with his right hand. The wounds on his arms and hands appeared to have been treated with antiseptic. Moreover, the medical report presented by Kim indicated that Mr. A had undergone suturing surgery for a deep laceration on his right shoulder, contradicting claims of injuries to his upper arm and neck.
It was later discovered that the images of Mr. A's neck and hand injuries, shown during the press conference, were sourced from a stock image website.
In response to the backlash, Mr. A clarified, attributing the misunderstanding to his partner, stating that there were tensions between them. He expressed his frustration at being unable to contact his family directly during the incident, leading him to send a voice message to the Garosero producer, who then mistakenly assumed the photos were from the hospital.
Mr. A admitted to deliberately sending a doctored audio recording to Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, to avoid being perceived as a spy. He mentioned sending something nonsensical on purpose to steer away suspicion, though his explanation seemed incomprehensible.
Mr. A is the individual who alleged that actress Kim Sae Ron informed him of her past relationship with actor Kim Soo Hyun in 2015 when she was underage. However, the authenticity of the recording has been brought into question. Journalist-turned-YouTuber Lee Jin Ho highlighted during a press conference that a forensic report suggested the file was manipulated using AI-generated voice technology, with Mr. A adding his voice and background noise to the audio. Lee Jin Ho dismissed the claims as obvious fabrications.
