In the upcoming Netflix documentary "Trainwreck," the focus is on the tragic events that unfolded during Travis Scott's Astroworld Festival in 2021. This disaster, where a crowd surge resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries, will be examined in the film set to premiere on June 10, 2025.

Part of Netflix's new anthology series called Trainwreck, the documentary, directed by Yemi Bamiro and co-directed by Hannah Poulter, will delve into the night in Houston's NRG Park that led to the tragic outcome. Through interviews with survivors, first responders, and experts in crowd safety, along with previously unseen footage and 911 audio, the film aims to shed light on the unanswered questions surrounding the Astroworld tragedy.

The Astroworld Festival disaster occurred during Travis Scott's performance and left 10 people dead from compressive asphyxiation, with many more injured and hospitalized. With a peak crowd density of just 1.85 square feet per person, the film also explores the festival's emergency protocols and the accountability of event organizers like Live Nation.

Despite the settlement of wrongful death lawsuits, no criminal charges were brought against individuals following the tragedy. The film, produced by Passion Pictures, emphasizes the courage of both attendees and emergency personnel who worked tirelessly to assist amid the chaos. "Trainwreck: The Astroworld Tragedy" will kick off a series of documentaries on real-life disasters to be released weekly on Netflix.
