Digga D has found himself at the center of a murder conspiracy trial in London, while his co-defendant, Fredo, is currently outside the country and is not present for the trial.
The trial, taking place at Kingston Crown Court, is focused on allegations that members of the Harrow Road Boys gang conspired to kill Digga D, a UK drill rapper, amidst an ongoing feud with rival groups.
The case, which commenced on May 6, has generated interest due to the involvement of renowned names from the UK drill scene, particularly Digga D, known as Rhys Herbert.
Fredo, also known as Marvin Bailey, stands as a co-defendant but has not made an appearance in court. Reports indicate that Fredo is residing in Dubai following his release from prison for drug-related offenses.
The trial involves eight men, including Fredo, who are facing charges related to possessing a firearm with intent to cause harm and smuggling mobile phones into prisons.
It is alleged that the group planned to obtain a firearm to target rival gang members, with Digga D being among the potential targets.
The conflict traces back to a turf war between HRB and CGM, the group Digga D is associated with, with rap lyrics, music videos, and social media posts being presented as evidence of the ongoing hostility between these groups.
All defendants have maintained their plea of not guilty. The trial is a retrial and is anticipated to run until July 2025, following an earlier trial that did not result in a verdict.
Digga D is currently serving a prison sentence after being convicted in January for involvement in the importation and distribution of cannabis. The rapper was apprehended during a live Instagram session in February 2024 when authorities raided his residence.
Though Digga D consented to some charges linked to the drug activities, he denied participating in a larger shipment. A hearing determined his substantial role in the drug supply chain.
