By the end of the jury selection process on Friday, Diddy’s defense team hinted at their strategy during a courtroom discussion.

50 Cent expressed doubt over the defense team's claim that Cassie Ventura, Diddy's ex-girlfriend, was violent, likening himself to a lawyer in an Instagram post. He dismissed the idea of Cassie physically harming Diddy.

Diddy's trial, which commenced on Monday with the selection of jurors, involves charges such as sex trafficking, racketeering, and transporting for prostitution. His defense plans to argue that the relationship between Diddy and Ventura was tumultuous with violence on both sides.

Diddy's lawyers mentioned their intention to question Ventura, presumably "Victim-1," about her alleged violent behavior to portray her as someone who engages in physical altercations. They aim to challenge the perception that Diddy was the sole perpetrator of abuse in their relationship, despite security footage surfacing in 2024 showing Diddy mistreating Ventura.

Even though the defense struggled to exclude the video evidence and potential jurors were questioned about it, they plan to depict Ventura as a strong individual not hesitant to be involved in conflicts, to counter the prosecution's claims of coercion.

However, 50 Cent remains unconvinced about the defense's stance.
