The official X account of ZKsync, previously known as Twitter, was briefly taken over to promote a fake ZK token airdrop. The deceptive message promised followers a chance to receive a portion of the initial token supply and included a link to a suspicious website, "distribution-zksync.io."

Although the post was removed after around 15 minutes, ZKsync has not yet made a public statement acknowledging the breach. Despite the breach, the price of the ZK token has not experienced a significant immediate impact. However, there is concern that if user confidence diminishes, there could be further repercussions.

Security specialists advise individuals to be cautious and abstain from engaging with any unverified links related to token giveaways. This situation underscores the increasing occurrence of social media breaches that target prominent cryptocurrency projects.
