The upcoming movie 'Somebody' is creating quite a stir as it approaches its highly-anticipated March debut. With a gripping psychological thriller narrative, the film revolves around Yeong Eun (portrayed by Kwak Sun Young), whose life is thrown into disarray by the mysterious behavior of her daughter, So Hyun. Fast forward 20 years, and the story shifts to Min (played by Yuri) who, plagued by amnesia, crosses paths with Ha Young (portrayed by Lee Sul), setting off a chain of events that delve into deep emotional complexities.

The film made waves when it received an official invitation to the esteemed 'Busan International Film Festival,' and recently grabbed headlines for an astounding feat – its pre-sale tickets for the opening day were snatched up in a heartbeat. Studio Santa Claus Entertainment, the film's distributor, teased fans with a still from the movie showcasing Kwak Sun Young's compelling portrayal of Yeong Eun on February 18, offering a sneak peek into her character's world.

In 'Somebody,' Kwak Sun Young takes on the role of a swimming instructor navigating life post-divorce as she single-handedly raises her 7-year-old daughter, So Hyun. As So Hyun's puzzling behavior begins to disrupt their everyday existence, Yeong Eun finds herself embroiled in a battle to safeguard her daughter, unveiling the depths of her maternal affection.

Reflecting on her character, Kwak Sun Young pondered, “What defines normalcy in life? Yeong Eun firmly believes in her ability to reform So Hyun, facing hurdles and setbacks along the way, only to pick herself up time and again.” Her profound understanding of the character breathed life into Yeong Eun, enhancing the authenticity of her portrayal.

Director Lee Jeong Chan lauded Kwak Sun Young's performance, remarking, “Despite her gentle demeanor, she exudes a remarkable inner strength. Kwak Sun Young brought a human touch to the character of Yeong Eun.” Director Kim Ye Jung added, “She embodies a sense of serenity coupled with fervor for her craft. Her comprehensive approach to roles is a testament to why I am eagerly anticipating her on-screen delivery.”
