BLACKPINK's Lisa Opens Up About Her First Acting Venture and How She Landed the Role
Lisa recently sat down for an interview with The Wrap, where she candidly shared her thoughts on her inaugural acting stint and spilled the beans on how she snagged the coveted role.
The highly anticipated series, 'The White Lotus Season 3,' unfolds as a dark comedy that intricately weaves human desires and conflicts amidst the picturesque backdrop of a lavish resort. Filmed across Thailand, including stunning locations in Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok, Lisa shines in her portrayal of Mook, the resort's wellness guru, alongside A-listers Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, and Jason Isaacs.
In regard to her character, Lisa disclosed, "I felt the need to embark on a new journey." She further unveiled that her decision to audition stemmed from her genuine fondness for the show, prompting her to seize the opportunity with an open mind upon receiving the offer.
The HBO production team shared insights into the casting process, divulging that Lisa was a recommendation made by the co-producer and casting director during auditions in Thailand. Despite executive producer Dave Bernard and creator Mike White's initial unfamiliarity with Lisa or BLACKPINK, they approached her audition with impartiality, adhering to the same rigorous standards as with any other candidate.
Reflecting on the audition process, Lisa recounted, "I submitted my audition tape, received a callback, and then had an in-person audition with Mike White. Subsequently, I was thrilled to learn that I had landed the role. The journey was far from effortless." Embracing this novel experience, she found solace in the filming process, marking a significant milestone in her career.
