Diddy and JAY-Z Exonerated after Dismissal of Allegations from 2000 MTV VMA Event

Following the dismissal of a lawsuit alleging that Diddy and JAY-Z assaulted a teenage girl at a private event after the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards, Diddy slammed attorney Tony Buzbee for what he called baseless claims. The lawsuit, filed by Jane Doe, claimed that she was drugged and assaulted at the event when she was 13 years old. Both Diddy and JAY-Z vehemently denied the allegations, with JAY-Z’s legal team pointing out inconsistencies in the case.

In response to the lawsuit's dismissal, Diddy's representative stated, “Today’s complete dismissal without a settlement by the 1-800 attorney is yet another confirmation that these lawsuits are built on falsehoods, not facts. Sean Combs has never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone—man or woman, adult or minor.” JAY-Z also criticized the handling of the lawsuit, emphasizing the importance of protecting both victims and the innocent from false accusations.

The legal victory for Diddy and JAY-Z comes amidst ongoing legal challenges for Diddy, including nearly 100 lawsuits filed by Buzbee’s firm. Despite facing other legal battles, including charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution, Diddy remains resolute in fighting what he deems as baseless claims.
