Brooklyn Gang Members Linked to Cardi B's Assoc. Indicted for Violent Crimes

A faction of the Bloods gang in Brooklyn, including members of the 5’9 Brims associated with Cardi B, was busted this week. Fourteen alleged members of the Blood sets 5’9 Brims and Bloodhound Brims face charges like murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy.

The gangs, known for high-profile ties including Cardi B and Star Brim, are accused of orchestrating violent attacks in a long-standing feud with rival gangs. Authorities allege the group is responsible for 19 shootings, resulting in injuries to bystanders caught in the crossfire.

The NYPD and Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office led the investigation using intercepted calls and social media evidence. The crackdown aims to curb the violence that peaked after a 2021 killing and led to the indictment of individuals aged 15 to 30.

While Cardi B's affiliations have faced legal scrutiny, it is clarified that she had no part in the criminal activities. Star Brim, a prominent figure in the gang, served prison time for prior offenses. The crackdown serves to dismantle the gang's operations and enhance public safety in affected Brooklyn precincts.
