Legal Battle Unfolds Between NewJeans and ADOR Management Label

In the latest development of the legal dispute between NewJeans members Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein, and their management label ADOR, the first court hearing date has been set.

Scheduled for March 7 at the 50th civil division of the Seoul Central District Court, the hearing pertains to a provisional injunction filed by ADOR against the members to bring them back to their roles at the label and prohibit them from engaging in independent advertisement deals.

Notably, ADOR had initiated the injunction in response to the members' alleged independent activities, including organizing a contest to select a temporary group name, which the label deemed a serious breach of contract.

Furthermore, ADOR had also launched a lawsuit in December to verify the validity of the exclusive contracts between the NewJeans members and the label, with the initial court hearing for this case set for April 3 at the 41st civil division of the Seoul Central District Court.

The legal battle between NewJeans and ADOR formally commenced on November 28 last year when the members called out ADOR for failing to fulfill its obligations as a management label, leading to the termination of their exclusive contracts.

On a separate front, the shareholders' agreement termination lawsuit between former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin and HYBE Labels saw a court hearing on January 23 KST, with a subsequent hearing scheduled for April 17.
