Actor Um Tae Goo Ignites Warmth and Kindness in Seoul's Freezing Cold

As freezing winds chilled Seoul's Gwanghwamun Square under a cold wave warning, a heartwarming scene unfolded. Actor Um Tae Goo, donned in a vibrant red vest, braved the cold to spread warmth and compassion to those in need.

On the 4th afternoon, amidst the biting cold, a throng of people gathered in Gwanghwamun Square. Um Tae Goo personally engaged with citizens, vending copies of Big Issue, a publication that advocates for the self-reliance of the homeless. Not just his devoted fans, but also curious passersby, including foreign visitors, eagerly participated, purchasing magazines and capturing moments with him.

Um Tae Goo's involvement with Big Issue Korea began earlier this year as the cover star of their January issue. Expanding on this collaboration, he hit the streets himself to extend hands-on support to Big Issue vendors striving to rebuild their lives amid adversity.

Sources revealed to News 1 that this charitable endeavor was proposed by Um Tae Goo himself through his agency. Despite the availability of warm winter wear, he opted out of additional protection, choosing to experience the same harsh conditions faced by the street vendors who sell magazines daily.

Meanwhile, Um Tae Goo's recent acclaim stems from his role in the popular JTBC drama 'Playful Woman,' where he charmed audiences with a role that diverged from his usual tough-guy persona. Additionally, he has been confirmed to star in the upcoming film 'Wild Thing,' currently gearing up for production.
