The backlash has extended to shows such as SBS's 'Goal-Kicking Girls', MBC Radio’s 'Good Morning FM Tei', and the YouTube series 'Younghan Review'. In response to the situation, the production team of 'Younghan Review' has decided to halt the release of new content until the MBC Truth Investigation Committee completes its inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Oh Yoanna’s tragic passing.
'Younghan Review', a consumer-focused program featuring former announcers Kim Ga Young and Park Eun Young, premiered with a pilot episode on January 18th. However, amid mounting allegations of workplace bullying involving Kim Ga Young, the production team has disabled comments on the pilot episode and is closely monitoring developments. The decision on the show's future episodes will likely be delayed pending the committee's findings.
Following Oh Yoanna's death at 28 in September 2023, her obituary was only publicized three months later in December, unveiling suspicions of workplace bullying she allegedly endured from colleagues. Her family has taken legal action against two individuals accused of the harassment, with the case submitted to the Seoul Central District Court.
Moreover, the identities of the implicated weathercasters were disclosed by the 'Garosero Research Institute' YouTube channel, sparking ongoing public backlash. Despite these allegations, Kim Ga Young remains silent on the matter and has disabled comments on her social media accounts.
While she continued her weather reporting on MBC’s 'News Desk' as scheduled on the 1st, the comment section for the weather segment was removed. As a cast member on 'Goal-Kicking Girls' and 'Good Morning FM Tei', calls for Kim Ga Young’s removal are growing among viewers. However, a 'Goal-Kicking Girls' representative stated, "No decision has been made concerning Kim Ga Young’s status as we await the investigation's outcome."
