Nam Jihyun, known for her involvement in the girl group 4minute, has made it clear that she remains committed to pursuing acting opportunities, despite exploring different ventures in recent times.
In a social media post on May 9, Nam shared that she is still dedicated to acting. She disclosed that she had applied to the graduate program at Korea National University of Arts for the 2025 academic year but was unsuccessful in the second round of screening. She attached a photo of her application document, revealing that she had sought admission to the Acting Department in the School of Drama via general admissions.
Nam emphasized that although she faced a setback, she is looking at the bigger picture and has not given up on her aspiration to become an actress. While her recent endeavors as a business proprietor may have led some to presume she had left the entertainment sector, she clarified that this is not the case.
Previously active as a pilates instructor, Nam has recently gained attention for launching her own barre studio. In a heartfelt social media post shared alongside a picture from her studio, she expressed her delight in bringing to life a space she had envisioned for three years, underscoring the importance of not taking things for granted. She also highlighted how focusing on hard work and positive vibes has brought her a newfound sense of happiness, which she hopes to share with others.
Nam Jihyun made her debut in 2009 with 4minute and ventured into acting in 2010. The group officially disbanded in 2016.
