Actor Jo Jung Suk has achieved his first Baeksang Arts Award by winning the Best Actor in Film category at the 61st edition of the event. Jo was honored for his outstanding performance in the movie "Pilot," which became a box office hit with over 4.7 million viewers in 2023.

In "Pilot," Jo portrayed the character of Han Jung Woo, a former airline pilot who takes on the identity of Han Jung Mi, a woman, to secure a job. His portrayal garnered critical acclaim for its authenticity and emotional depth.
Jo Jung Suk has recently received several awards for his acting, including the Presidential Commendation at the 15th Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards and the Best Actor title at the 11th Korea Film Producers Association Awards. He and singer Gummy publicly announced their relationship in 2015 and got married in 2018. The couple shares one daughter.
