Lee Dong Gun, the actor, is receiving attention for his charming smile and neat appearance as he excels in his latest role as a café owner in Jeju. Although the café is experiencing early success, some nearby businesses have raised concerns about its impact on the local community.

On May 2, Lee posted a picture on his personal social media account without a caption. In the image, he is seen in a barista uniform, warmly greeting customers with a smile. Fans appreciated his clean-shaven look compared to a previous post on April 27 where he had facial hair.

The café, located in Aewol-eup, Jeju Island, was launched by Lee on April 13. He meticulously prepared for the opening, even securing a 200 million KRW loan, as disclosed on the SBS show 'My Little Old Boy.' The café quickly became popular, attracting long queues on its opening day.

A visitor described the café as beautifully designed but crowded during their visit on the weekend. Despite the wait, everyone seemed thrilled to see Lee Dong Gun and take photographs with him, making the experience enjoyable.

However, some local café owners expressed discontent with how the new business was introduced to the neighborhood. On April 16, a nearby café owner complained on social media about construction noise until 11 p.m., disturbing their sleep. Another business owner echoed this sentiment and criticized Lee’s team for not notifying residents beforehand, especially since the schedule was adjusted for television filming.

While acknowledging the positive impact on local businesses, one owner mentioned it was not about losing customers but rather about observing a lack of basic courtesy from someone benefiting from community support.

Married to actress Jo Yoon Hee in 2017, with whom he shares a daughter, Lee Dong Gun divorced in 2020. He is currently a part of the SBS entertainment program 'My Little Old Boy.'
