Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) is considering launching a utility token and a digital wallet as part of its strategy to improve its Truth+ platform, the company’s streaming service.
In a message to shareholders, TMTG's CEO and Chairman, Devin Nunes, outlined plans to expand the company's digital offerings, explore different ways to monetize Truth+, and increase its competitiveness in the streaming media industry. These plans involve adding advertising, offering subscription packages with premium content, and securing new family-friendly entertainment, documentaries, and unbiased news shows.
The company is also contemplating a rewards program with a utility token within a Truth digital wallet, initially meant for Truth+ subscriptions but possibly expanding to other products and services in the future. Details about the token's structure and implementation are yet to be disclosed.
This initiative follows TMTG's recent investments in the crypto sector through Truth.Fi and plans to launch ETFs and SMAs, including a Bitcoin (BTC) ETF. Additionally, The Trump Organization, in partnership with Dar Global, is constructing a $1 billion Trump International Hotel and Tower in Dubai that will accept Bitcoin and other digital currency payments.
President Trump's involvement in blockchain technology and crypto has grown further, evidenced by a private dinner he plans to host for the top 220 holders of his Official Trump (TRUMP) meme coin on May 22. Trump's active participation, both personally and through his businesses, indicates that integrating blockchain technology into TMTG's business model will be crucial for its future growth.
