Slimkid3 recently shared that Tupac Shakur once mentioned to him that their first album, "Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde," should have achieved platinum status a long time ago.

The current and former members of The Pharcyde - Slimkid3, Fatlip, Imani, and B##### Brown - are celebrating a milestone as two of their singles, "Passin’ Me By" and "Runnin," were certified by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). "Passin’ Me By" earned a platinum certification, while "Runnin" was awarded a gold certification.

Reflecting on these achievements on Instagram, Slimkid3 reminisced about Tupac's belief that their debut album should have reached platinum status back when it was released in 1992. He expressed excitement about the news and mentioned the importance of Tupac's support and encouragement.

The Pharcyde, formed in 1989, made a significant impact on the hip-hop scene by introducing a unique jazz-infused alternative sound to West Coast rap in the early '90s. Their unconventional style, clever lyrics, and soulful beats provided a fresh perspective in a rap era dominated by gangsta rap. Their collaborations with influential producers like J Dilla further solidified their reputation for pushing creative boundaries.

Although the group's lineup has changed over the years, with B##### Brown being the sole member not part of the current Pharcyde lineup, the trio of Slimkid3, Imani, and Fatlip are set to release the Timeless EP along with 1999 WRITE THE FUTURE, featuring four new tracks. They will also embark on a tour with Cypress Hill, Atmosphere, and Lupe Fiasco starting on August 8 in St. Augustine, Florida.
