Taeyeon from Girls' Generation has officially called off her upcoming solo concert in Tokyo, as confirmed by SM Entertainment on April 29. The announcement was made through Taeyeon's official social media accounts, informing fans that 'TAEYEON CONCERT – The ODD Of LOVE in JAPAN' had been canceled, and full refunds would be issued to ticket holders.
SM Entertainment explained that despite efforts to find an alternative venue for the concert, challenges with accommodating the expected audience and maintaining the show's quality led to the decision to cancel the Tokyo event. The agency expressed deep apologies to fans who were eagerly anticipating the performance, assuring that all tickets will be refunded in full.
Originally, on April 17, SM had announced the cancellation of Taeyeon's solo concerts scheduled for April 19 and 20 at Tokyo's Ariake Arena due to delays in receiving equipment for her Asia tour. Taeyeon, in response to the cancellation, expressed her disappointment through a fan platform, apologizing to fans and expressing her feelings of emptiness and helplessness over the sudden turn of events.
Additionally, Taeyeon shared a statement from a global fan alliance on her personal account, calling for SM Entertainment to provide further information and compensation regarding the canceled Tokyo concerts.
