Actor Kim Soo Hyun, who has been involved in a personal controversy recently, is now being sued by advertisers. Two companies, A and B, with whom Kim Soo Hyun had advertising contracts, have filed lawsuits against both Kim Soo Hyun and his agency GOLDMEDALIST. They are demanding the return of modeling fees and compensation, with the total amount claimed exceeding 3 billion KRW (~2 million USD). Other advertisers are also likely to join the legal proceedings.
Another company, C, is contemplating legal action against Kim Soo Hyun, accusing him of breaching trust, leading to the termination of their advertising agreement. They seek the return of modeling fees or penalties.
According to Entertainment lawyer Park Sung Woo from Woori Law Firm, Kim Soo Hyun had signed advertising deals with around 15 brands, each valued at approximately 1 to 1.2 billion KRW domestically. Advertisers typically try to avoid being the first to sue a model publicly, but once a lawsuit is initiated, more advertisers are expected to follow suit. The total amount involved in these legal disputes could potentially surpass 10 billion KRW.
