Recently, singer Yoo Seung Jun posted a picture on his personal social media account which showed him with his senior, Tae Jin Ah, taken after a performance. In the image, Yoo Seung Jun donned a white shirt while Tae Jin Ah sported a tuxedo, displaying their close bond as they warmly embraced.
Responding to fans' inquiries, Yoo Seung Jun clarified that he was currently in the U.S. and not in Korea. Yoo Seung Jun initially gained fame in 1997 with his album 'West Side' and popular songs like 'Gaui' and 'Me Me Me'. However, in 2001, rather than fulfilling his mandatory military service, he exploited a system allowing for delay and fled to the U.S.
After obtaining U.S. citizenship and renouncing his Korean nationality in 2002, which sparked public outrage, Yoo Seung Jun was banned entry into South Korea under the Immigration Control Act's Article 11, Paragraph 1. Despite legal battles aiming to overturn this entry ban, the U.S. Consulate General in Los Angeles continued to reject his visa applications, citing concerns that his evasion of military service could harm national interests.
Recently, Yoo Seung Jun has expressed remorse for his actions, acknowledging the disappointment and regrets he has caused his fans and society, taking full responsibility for the consequences of his decisions.
