During the '2025 EDC KOREA' event, Shownu from Monsta X surprised the audience by joining renowned DJ and producer Steve Aoki during his performance. Shownu's unexpected appearance on stage during Aoki's set at the Inspire Entertainment Resort in Incheon on April 25 added liveliness to the show as he showcased his vibrant vocals and high-energy performance while syncing perfectly with Aoki's pulsating beats, exciting the crowd.

Their collaboration featured the song 'Play it cool', which is part of Monsta X's second full-length album 'Take.2 we are here' produced by Steve Aoki, marking their initial joint project. This performance marked another occasion where Monsta X and Steve Aoki shared the stage, having previously wowed audiences at the 'iHeartRadio Music Festival 2019' in Las Vegas and the 'MDL Beast Fest' in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia with their dynamic chemistry.

The impromptu performance at '2025 EDC KOREA' came about when Steve Aoki, during his visit to Korea, personally invited Shownu to join him on stage, resulting in their first live performance together in almost five years. Steve Aoki later shared a video of their collaboration on social media, while Shownu posted a photo with Aoki on Monsta X's official platforms, highlighting their enduring friendship.

Apart from his musical pursuits, Shownu has been diversifying his career, with milestones including his debut in musical theater with 'The great comet', hosting the YouTube web variety show 'No pogi', and winning the Digital Content Award at the '2024 KBS Entertainment Awards'. In February, he represented the French premium lifestyle brand K-WAY as an ambassador during the Milan Fashion Week runway, showcasing his wide-reaching international appeal.

Monsta X is gearing up to commemorate their 10th debut anniversary on May 14, promising a host of future activities and increased interaction with fans worldwide.
