Changpeng “CZ” Zhao is once again embroiled in a public dispute with Bloomberg regarding his recent advisory work with various governments on crypto policy. CZ has criticized Bloomberg for misconstruing his advisory efforts and taking his statements out of context to create sensational news stories.

CZ, the founder of Binance, has faced scrutiny from the media in the past. He had previously sued a Bloomberg subsidiary for defamation three years ago. More recently, there were allegations circulating about a potential deal with the Trump family, which CZ denied. Following this, Bloomberg published an article focusing on his advisory work with governments, leading to a strong reaction from CZ.

In recent months, CZ has been actively involved in advising governments on crypto regulations. He has provided guidance to countries such as Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan on developing their crypto ecosystems. He also met with the Prime Minister of Malaysia to explore the country’s potential as a crypto hub.

Bloomberg's report highlighted CZ's past legal issues, including a prison sentence for money laundering charges, in connection with his role in influencing crypto laws. Despite this, CZ's advice on regulatory matters is described as standard, given his prominent position in the crypto industry.

CZ criticized Bloomberg for taking his comments out of context, citing a specific example related to his involvement with Giggle Academy, a non-profit online platform for youth employment. He clarified that his remarks about working with labor ministries were misinterpreted and emphasized the positive impact Giggle has had on children.

The article is accused of portraying CZ's advisory work in a negative light by repeatedly referencing his criminal history and associating his commitment to working with labor ministries with his role in advising government policy.
