Kanye West expressed his belief that Drake is being targeted by evil forces following Kendrick Lamar and SZA's track, "Luther," surpassing Drake's "NOKIA" on Spotify in the U.S. West went on a Twitter rampage, suggesting supernatural interference with the charts and reigniting his rivalry with fellow musicians. Despite mixed feelings about Drake, he stated that "Luther" should not be overtaking Drake's track. West insinuated that the devil was granted permission to go after Drake by implying that Drake was being targeted.
During his Twitter tirade, West criticized Kendrick Lamar and Tyler The Creator, calling them overrated. He specifically targeted Lamar by stating that the rapper cannot rap. However, West momentarily shifted his tone to praise Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony Tiffith, while reaffirming his superiority over Lamar.
Further escalating the situation, West entered a discussion on who the best rapper is with regard to lyrical prowess. When Eminem was mentioned in the conversation alongside Kendrick and J. Cole, West controversially claimed that J. Cole and Kendrick could not compare to Eminem. Additionally, West reposted comments that endorsed himself, Eminem, and CyHi the Prynce as elite lyricists.
