TV personality Hyunyoung addressed criticism about her supposed resale of complimentary luxury brand gifts by clarifying that she was not directly selling any products. She stated that she was merely connecting buyers to an overseas vendor and received a small referral fee for the introductions.

A representative from the overseas shopping company collaborating with Hyunyoung explained in an interview that their role was to act as a purchasing agent, assisting Korean customers in buying items from overseas that were otherwise difficult to obtain locally. Hyunyoung played no part in sales but was involved in recommending the product and received compensation for her referrals.

The product in question, Dior’s Spring Kit for 2025, was not available in Korea at the time and was acquired from a reputable partner in Singapore. Customers made purchases using their own customs clearance numbers, ensuring legal importation under their names.

The representative emphasized that the entire process was conducted lawfully, with Hyunyoung solely acting as a connector and not profiting from the actual goods. The controversy arose when Hyunyoung showcased the Dior kit on social media, offering it at a lower price compared to local department stores' offerings.

Despite clarifications from Hyunyoung and the vendor, there were concerns raised by some online users about the legality of her actions. However, Hyunyoung maintained that she had confirmed the products' legal entry into Korea through official channels and explained that her role was only to link interested parties with the vendor.
