Production for the album includes collaborations with Ye and Wheezy, incorporating elements of Brooklyn drill rhythms. The album announcement was made through a nostalgic video featuring highlights from Lil Wayne's career. Tha Carter VI is set to be released on June 6, nearly 17 years after the release of Tha Carter III. Lil Wayne's past albums, including Tha Carter V and Funeral, have seen great success on the charts, with Tha Carter V debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Tickets for the Madison Square Garden event will be available to the public on April 25, with artist presale access starting on April 23.
