The filming of the Disney+ original series 'Knock Off', featuring actor Kim Soo Hyun, has been paused indefinitely due to the ongoing controversy surrounding the lead actor. Production insiders informed the cast and crew on April 23rd KST about the suspension of filming, which comes after Disney+ initially postponed the show's release, stating the need for careful consideration.

The decision to halt filming follows a string of damaging allegations involving Kim Soo Hyun and the late actress Kim Sae Ron. Kim Soo Hyun has been accused of having a relationship with Kim Sae Ron during her teenage years and allegedly using his family's agency resources to pressurize her into repaying debts following her DUI incident. Despite denying all allegations and even hosting an emotional press conference to affirm his innocence, public scrutiny persists.

'Knock Off', which was in the final stages of shooting with an 18-episode script reportedly finished, was expected to continue production amid the controversy. However, the production team has decided to pause all activities, formally informing the crew and cast that filming will not resume anytime soon. Some actors and crew members who were on standby for the remaining shoots have moved on to other projects.

It is unlikely that 'Knock Off' will be canceled entirely despite the setback. Industry sources suggest that the series' future is tied to the resolution of the situation involving Kim Soo Hyun. The actor is currently in a legal battle, having filed a 12 billion KRW (about $8.4 million USD) lawsuit against individuals linked to the YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute, a primary source of the allegations.

As the legal proceedings continue, the release of 'Knock Off' remains uncertain, pending the outcome of the controversy surrounding one of K-drama's highly anticipated productions.
