Kanye West Backs Change.org Petition Seeking Contact with Children Amid Kim Kardashian Divorce
/Article

Kanye West recently expressed his support for a petition on Change.org that seeks access to his four children amid growing tensions with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian regarding custody arrangements. The rapper, now known as Ye, alleges that Kardashian is preventing him from seeing their children—North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. Surrogates carried Chicago and Psalm due to complications during Kardashian's earlier pregnancies. West mentioned not having seen Saint in over a year.

The petition, initiated by the rapper's supporters, aims for immediate changes to allow West to interact and raise his kids. It emphasizes West's inherent right as a father to participate in his children's upbringing. West, 47, has faced controversy recently due to his public statements, such as one implying that a Jewish lawyer warned him that making antisemitic remarks would affect his access to his children. He also faced criticism for his latest song, "Cousins," in which he admitted to engaging in inappropriate behavior with a relative at a young age.

Kim Kardashian, 44, who holds primary custody of the children post their divorce in 2022, reportedly limited West's visitation rights due to concerns about his erratic behavior and troubling social media activity. The co-parenting challenges between West and Kardashian have been public, with West using social media to express his frustrations.

The petition argues that a father plays a crucial role in protecting their children and should have a say in their upbringing. West has raised concerns about how his children are being raised, particularly commenting on North's appearance wearing makeup and perfume at Coachella. However, it is important to note that while Change.org petitions can draw attention and media coverage, they do not have legal authority in custody matters. Family court decisions are typically based on legal processes, assessments, and what is in the best interests of the children, rather than public opinion.
