Lil Wayne Reveals the Reason Behind His Photo Op with Trump
/Article

Lil Wayne disregarded the backlash regarding his photo with Trump, stating that he valued his mother's opinion above all else as he readies the launch of "Tha Carter VI" on June 6. The picture in question was taken during a Florida event centered on Black community projects, where Trump's team proposed the photo opportunity. Lil Wayne explained that Trump was exasperated by constant photo requests and agreed to the picture out of respect for the President. Despite the online criticism following the image's circulation before the 2020 election, Lil Wayne remained unfazed, emphasizing that he was only concerned about his mother's reaction. Trump later pardoned Lil Wayne for a federal weapons charge, but the rapper clarified that he would not have supported Trump in the election. Lil Wayne is now focused on the upcoming release of Tha Carter VI, his fourteenth solo studio album scheduled for June 6.
