Taeil, a former member of NCT, along with two other individuals, are set to attend their first court hearing on May 12 KST, facing charges of special "quasi-rape" under South Korean laws. The accusations stem from an incident in June 2024 involving the alleged rape of an unconscious or incapacitated female victim while inebriated. Despite initial rumors suggesting Taeil possessed a weapon during the incident, these rumors were later debunked.

During the initial police investigation, Taeil did not participate in questioning, citing health issues as the reason for his absence. There is speculation regarding whether Taeil will appear in public for his upcoming court hearing. In related news, Taemin has recently addressed his dating rumors with NO:ZE, expressing his frustrations for the first time.
