Lee Ahreum, formerly of T-ara, has been found guilty of fraud for deceiving acquaintances and fans and taking millions of won from them. Judge Lee Nuri from the Suwon District Court's Ansan Branch sentenced Ahreum to a six-month suspended prison term for fraud charges. She borrowed money between March and May 2023 under false pretenses, claiming it was for personal reasons but never repaid the loans, totaling approximately 37 million KRW ($26,000 USD). Initially, Ahreum denied the accusations, alleging hacking and her ex-boyfriend's involvement, but later confessed to acting alone during the police investigation.

This is not Ahreum's first legal trouble as she was previously convicted for child abuse and defamation, receiving an eight-month suspended sentence. Her abusive behavior involved verbally attacking her ex-husband in front of their children and defaming an individual related to a legal dispute with a former boyfriend through criticism on a livestream.

Ahreum was a T-ara member in 2012 but departed the group in 2013. After marrying a businessman in 2019 and having two children before divorcing in 2023, she remarried her boyfriend and gave birth to a third child in November 2023. Recent reports suggest that she is expecting her fourth child.
