His agency Gold Medalist made an official announcement on April 15th confirming that they had reported the matter to the authorities the previous day. The statement revealed that there has been a surge in baseless posts and comments online, damaging Kim's reputation. The agency mentioned that they filed a criminal complaint on April 14th based on fan reports and their own monitoring, citing defamation and insults under relevant laws.

Gold Medalist also addressed the issue of "cyber wrecker" behavior, which involves anonymous creators sharing false content to fuel cyberbullying. They expressed their intention to combat such actions with the help of legal representatives, even targeting content on platforms like YouTube and X (formerly Twitter).

The agency assured that they would continue to lodge complaints as needed to safeguard Kim's rights against criminal activities. Kim Soo Hyun's association with rumors related to actress Kim Sae Ron had prompted him to temporarily suspend his public engagements.
