The emerging K-pop group TWS continues to enjoy their increasing popularity as they prepare for the release of their third mini-album, 'TRY WITH US'. They are introducing a fresh sound and dynamic concept that cements their reputation as frontrunners in the “refreshing youth” music genre.
On April 14th at 10 PM KST, the group members (Shinyu, Dohoon, Younjae, Hanjin, Jihoon, and Kyungmin) unveiled a teaser video on HYBE Labels’ YouTube channel. The video offers a glimpse of all six tracks from the upcoming album, featuring each member presenting a personal item that symbolizes a specific song and discussing its significance.
The title track, “Aren’t you cool for following your heart?”, immediately captures attention with its lively pop vibe. The vibrant drums and sleek synths deliver an invigorating sensation, with lyrics reflecting bold and thrilling moments of youth. TWS's lively and emotionally charged vocals harmonize over the track’s distinctive “refreshing beat,” creating a blend of accessibility and sophistication.
Youngjae, representing the title song, showcased a timer as his symbolic item. He shared, “This track encourages courage when facing new challenges. The timer symbolizes the countdown before taking a leap of faith. It reminds me of the emotional moment when TWS decided to go for it.”
The album's opening track, “Lucky to be loved”, combines a cozy UK garage rhythm with a gentle melody. Shinyu used a mirror to symbolize their appreciation towards those who have accepted them for who they are.
For “Random Play”, an energetic track featuring lively drums and guitar paired with warm synth tones, Dohoon presented a phone, emphasizing its role as an essential item for spontaneous adventures. “If this song plays during your journey, it will add a sense of freedom to everything,” he explained.
The song “Freestyle” blends elements of hip-hop, R&B, and rock, characterized by robust bass and bold rhythms. Kyungmin, with headphones on, described the track as empowering, likening it to gracefully owning the spotlight.
“Now Playing” is a late-night-themed UK garage tune, featuring catchy sounds and intuitive melodies. Hanjin, holding a popcorn bucket, revealed, “It encapsulates the excitement of attending a late-night movie for the first time.”
Concluding the album is “GO BACK”, an audacious alternative pop track highlighted by a potent bass line and synths. Jihoon, holding a secret notebook, explained, “Among life’s challenges, expressing genuine feelings and confessing them is the toughest. This song speaks to that courageous honesty.”
TWS's third mini-album, 'TRY WITH US', is scheduled for release on April 21st at 6 PM KST. Ahead of the launch, teasers for the title track will be unveiled on April 17th and April 19th. On the release day, the group will hold a comeback showcase to celebrate with their fans.
