Japanese project girl group f5ve caused controversy when allegations surfaced that they used a photo of the late Hara for promotional purposes. Initially known as SG5 and inspired by the anime 'Sailor Moon', f5ve officially debuted on March 1, 2023, with a unique concept.
The online claims suggested that f5ve included an image of Hara alongside the caption “IDGAF (I don’t give a f—)”, leading to criticism from fans and the public. Their management has yet to release an official statement addressing the issue.
On April 27, 2024, SG5 rebranded as f5ve, introducing a new concept called “Dream Agents from Tokyo” and shifting their musical style towards hyperpop. In contrast, Hara tragically passed away on November 24, 2019, in her Seoul home at 28, without any foul play involved. Hara was part of the K-pop group KARA, which gained fame with multiple hits and was adored by fans in Korea and Japan, even becoming the first Korean female singer to perform at the Tokyo Dome in 2013.
