According to a knowledgeable source, the World Bank is set to reveal a funding package of $12 billion for Argentina, in addition to the upcoming approval of a $20 billion loan deal by the International Monetary Fund. Following this, the Inter-American Development Bank is also expected to unveil its own financial support for Argentina, as confirmed by a second source. This development comes after Argentina's central bank announced the relaxation of foreign exchange market controls, allowing the peso to fluctuate freely within a band of 1,000 to 1,400 pesos per dollar. The easing of Argentina's capital controls was a necessary step to secure new funding from these institutions, which is expected to be formally announced alongside the IMF's approval.
