According to a memo released by the Pentagon, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has instructed the termination of IT services contracts, totaling $5.1 billion, with firms like Accenture and Deloitte. Hegseth stated that these agreements involve unnecessary expenses for external consultants, providing services that Pentagon staff can handle themselves. He highlighted that discontinuing these contracts would eliminate $5.1 billion of wasteful expenditure, resulting in anticipated savings of nearly $4 billion.
