In the legal proceedings, Soulja Boy faces a significant financial burden even before the punitive damages phase begins.

A civil lawsuit filed by Soulja Boy's former personal assistant, accusing him of rape, assault, and kidnapping, ended with a California jury ruling in favor of awarding the plaintiff over $4,000,000 in compensatory damages. This ruling paves the way for the next phase of the trial where punitive damages will be determined.

The plaintiff's legal team, including Ron Zambrano and Neama Rahmani, expressed satisfaction with the decision and are eager to proceed to the punitive damages stage. The lawsuit, initiated in 2021, detailed allegations of repeated sexual assaults and physical abuse while the plaintiff served as Soulja Boy's assistant between 2019 and 2020. Soulja Boy denied the allegations during the trial, claiming their interactions were consensual.
