YouTuber Lee Jin Ho recently stated that the late Kim Sae Ron and actor Kim Soo Hyun were not in a relationship in May 2019. He also shared a video purportedly showing Kim Sae Ron being affectionate with another man in public. In response, Kim Sae Ron's family has countered these claims.

Reported by Sports Kyunghyang on April 10, Kim Sae Ron's family clarified that on May 27, 2019, around 1 AM, she was with a female friend, not a man. They mentioned that there are records on Kim Sae Ron's phone she used before her passing, showing she was at her female friend's house. She even used smartphone apps to capture footage around 1 AM on that day.

Additionally, the family explained that Kim Sae Ron was filming the web drama 'Love Playlist Season 4' from June to July 2019, making it unlikely for her to have been publicly dating during that time frame.

The day before, Lee Jin Ho posted a video on his YouTube channel Entertainment Lee Jin Ho claiming to show Kim Sae Ron displaying physical affection with a man. He stated that while Kim Sae Ron's face is not clearly visible, the video's metadata confirms it was filmed on May 27, 2019. He argued that this supports his claim that both Kim Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun were in separate relationships at that time.

Lee Jin Ho also suggested that the messages and letters implying Kim Sae Ron dated Kim Soo Hyun during middle school years are untrue, hinting that she may have fabricated them.

Previously, Kim Sae Ron's family appeared on the YouTube channel Hoverlab (Garo Sero Research Institute) alleging that Kim Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun were together for six years, from November 19, 2015, when she was in middle school until July 7, 2021. They disclosed that after leaving her agency, Kim Sae Ron received a demand for repayment of 700 million KRW (~$482,395 USD) from Gold Medalist, causing her significant distress.

In contrast, Kim Soo Hyun's side denied these claims, stating that he dated the late actress only from the summer of 2019 to the fall of 2020 when she was an adult.
