The singer, originating from the Bronx with ties to the Dominican Republic and Trinidad, expressed her sadness on her BG Secret Society Instagram about the tragic incident at Jet Set, a popular venue in Santo Domingo.

In her post, Cardi B mentioned being heartbroken by seeing Dominican people being rescued or lost, families in agony searching for loved ones, and urged for prayers for the survivors and the departed.

The collapse occurred during a live performance, with well-known merengue singer Rubby Pérez among the casualties at 69 years old. Cardi B noted that those who passed away were likely having a joyful time at the concert and would be received well by the Lord.
