China's commerce ministry announced on Wednesday that it would be placing 12 U.S. companies on its export control list and six on its unreliable entities list, with the changes set to take effect on Thursday. This decision, outlined in ministry statements, will prohibit the export of dual-use items to businesses such as American Photonics and Novotech that are on the export control list. Additionally, companies like Shield AI and Sierra Nevada Corporation, listed as unreliable entities, will face restrictions on conducting import and export activities with China as well as investing in the country.
